The San Francisco Treat! Part 1

Alright, Im trying to catch up... We got to San Francisco about 4 and half weeks ago and you are now just hearing about my adventures in this city. I've been here once and it was a few summers ago when Tyson and I hitched a ride up to Lake Shasta with Amber and Jeremy and Bella and Olivia.

Our hotel was like a two minute walk from the theater. Its great because we were able to walk to the theater everyday and were able to pop in to our hotel between acts if we needed to get something. The immense number of aggressive homeless people around us was not a bonus and neither was having a room without a kitchenette for 4 weeks. Lets just say San Francisco stole my money in the way of paying for meals!!!

Our first night we went to Ghiradelli Square and had Ice Cream with Ashleys friend and my former co-worker Megan and her boyfriend John. We were felling lucky but our table numbers were trying to tell us otherwise.

Our hotel was the King George and while it was very close to the theater it was very small and cramped for 4 weeks. Here are some pictures of the room. Our first weekend Amber and Jessica drove up and we had them crash in our room and the brought their cots and set them up in the empty space of our hotel room. Where you ask? Exactly there was hardly any room so we had to do some serious re-arranging and moving of furniture to get it done. Our room was butt up to an alley which was frequented by the homeless and other random people through out the day and into the night. After two weeks of people yelling, singing cursing at all hours of the night, Ashley and I marched up to the front desk with dark circles under our eyes and politely asked to be moved to a higher floor on the opposite side of the hotel. They gladly obliged and the rest of those 2 weeks, we slept like babies.

Our second day in San Francisco we headed up the street with our dirty clothes in our suitcases in search for the laundry mat that the front desk guy told us about at our hotel. Well we didnt find it so we kept walking until we found one and unknowingly ended up in The Tenderloin, which we found out later. it looked sketchy but we really needed to do our laundry so we got started. After a while I walked down to the corner store to get a bottle of water. When i left there were two guys out side looking all shady and weird but I just averted my eyes and walked directly back to the laundry mat. After about ten minutes we got up from the bench to check on our clothes and left our purses on the bench about 10 feet away. Mine wern't done so I shut the door and looked up to see the same two guys from outside the corner store now standing in the door way. CRAP! My purse is closer to them, than it is to me. I made a beeline over there and sat down with Ashleys purse and mine behind me. They started to try to talk to us and asked us if we had boyfriends and could they get our numbers and what not but we were cornered by them and definately felt intimitadted. After a minute or two of us not feeding into thier advances they got the piscture and left. We learned our lesson... A) Never start walking around in a strange neighborhood withour truly knowing where your going and B) carry your purse on you at all times even if its just 10 feet away.

Here are some pictures of the awesome laundry mat and the high tech way of informing people that one of the machines was broken.

Then here are some random pictures from around.

Alright there are way too many pictures and stories for one blog. Ill have to have more than one San Fran post to make sure I can show them all to you!

The 13th - My Valentines Day

When I met Tyson the summer before my Senior year of high school started I knew I had a keeper. We met early August and sometime in September we decided together that we were "dating" and that we were boyfriend and girlfriend. I asked him what our anniversary was, since boyfriends and girlfriends always had an anniversary date. He choose August 13th since he liked 13 and didn't believe it was an unlucky number and it would be easy for him to remember. Being those awkward first few months, Valentines day was approaching and I started to think about it. For the first time I had a boyfriend on Valentines day... SCORE!!!

I asked him a few weeks before if there was anything he wanted to do for Valentines day. Thats when he broke the news to me that his dads birthday was on Valentines day. BUMMER! No cute valentines day dinner or cutsey day just for us. He came up with something even better. Since our "6 month" anniversary would fall on February 13th we would make it a tradition to have Valentines Day/6 month anniversary on the day before so we could spend the 14th with his dad for his birthday. It was something we did every February and something I treasured and felt special for the two of us.

Even though its nice to have special days like anniversaries and valentines day to designate to spend with your significant other I knew every single day that Tyson loved me. Its that confidence in our love that gets me through each day since he passed away. I was his Valentine 365 days a year then and now. Love you Stinky!!!

Today I spent the day with Ashley and her Awesome family. Her mom, dad, sister, aunt, uncle, two cousins and their awesome son Ryden. Ryden somehow became my Valentine with his sun-kissed locks and gorgeous blue eyes. He took me hand, hung out with me, melted my heart and made me feel special and he is only 2 years old!!! This guy got a super dooper head start on making the ladies swoon. He finished the night off by singing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds for us on the car ride back to our hotel. We even had matching hats with ears! Somehow this cutie pie knew I needed some extra love today and he delivered!

Thank you to all my friends and family who make me feel loved each day including today im so blessed to have each of you in my life :)

San Diego

I'm going back in time to post pictures of San Diego and realised that I dropped the ball even worse than in Denver. I didn't take hardly any pictures. Whats wrong with me?!?!? In my defense, we were only there a week. Even though I only spent a week there and didn't take any pictures I think I like San Diego the most so far. Day one when Ashley and I went out with our good friend Mary Beth and her fiance Brian for dinner in the gas lamp district I thought to my self (and may have even said it aloud) I could live here. Well I still have a bunch of cities to see before I decide what my favorite is but here are the few, almost non-existant pictures I have from San Diego.

I hope San Fran will not disappoint!

The New Computer/Denver

Well I have a new computer! I've never personally owned my own computer so this is weird territory. Im reading manuals, googling stuff and I still have no clue what Im doing. Macs were Tysons thing, computers were Tysons thing. I would just ask him and he would do it. He would just know what to look for or what to do and just do it. I have Apple care which means I can march down to the apple store, make an appointment and they will show me what to do. Will they be as understanding as Tyson? Will they be patient? Will they just do it when I get to frustrated because i still dont understand? Probably not... but I have to figure it out. So maybe I should use the service and make the appointment.

Ok so I do have my pictures on my computer so I guess I will slowly share some that I have taken so far. Most are from my little point and click since its the most convenient to carry in my purse.

We left L.A. for Denver on January 3rd. We left the Southern California warm, sunny, laid back life style for cold and snowy Denver. To be honest with you I wasn't that thrilled to go out a do much sight seeing. I was pretty bummed out about saying goodbye to everyone and still trying to tie up loose ends back at home that Denver was kind of the city that fell through the cracks.

Sam Number 3 - A janitor recomended this place to us day one and we loved it. We went back 2 or 3 times. Breakfast was amazing.

This is our friend Forest, we decided to brave the snow beween shows to get Frozen Custurd from Good Times. When we got there, it was closed :(

The next 5 pictures are from the Molly Brown House. She was also known as the Unsinklable Molly Brown from the Titanic. We showed up and were going to buy our tickets and found out that it was one of 4 free days during the year. Score! Free Tour! I was aloud to take pictures inside but I took a few in the front and some of Ashley and I trying on Victorian Hats in the "play room". I always knew I like Molly Browns charachter from the movie... such a spit fire... but loved her even more after touring the house. Little known fact, after The Titanic sank everyone was taken aboard The Carpathia(sp?) to finish their voyage. As soon as she got on the ship she started fundraising for all the women and children who were left widowed and fatherless as a result of the disaster. She stayed on the ship until every last person had a place to go. Wow, what an amazing woman! Truly made my heart warm when I heard that story.

The last few pictures are of Ashley and I around the city and at the theater.

Last but not least, the smelly, the dingy, "La Cage'" - our office/storage in Denver. It was located at the back of the theater where all the light storage was.

Goodbye Denver, I doubt I will miss you!
